Back to visit the vikings…

My new home for 6 weeks in Norway

My new home for 6 weeks in Norway

Well, in a couple of weeks I’ll be heading back up to Northern Europe.  This time I’ll be staying for 6 weeks in Bamble, Norway.  I’ll be staying in Langesund for 2 weeks by myself, then I’ll have 4 other guys up there for 2 weeks followed by another 2 weeks on my own.  Borealis was nice enough to rent me out a 3 bedroom house for my whole time up there.  There’s a picture of it above during the summer time.  Too bad Norway won’t be that nice in November/December.  Here’s the link if you want to check out where I’m going to live:

Another fortunate thing about this trip is that I get to have a rental car this time.  The plant is pretty far away from any civilization up there and there isn’t any public transit.  I’ll be the only guy up there with a valid  Austrian license in the house so I’ll be mister Taxi man.  I don’t mind so much because I’m definitely going to go explore Norway.  On top of that, my friend Nanna is only a ferry ride away in Denmark.  So, hopefully I’ll get a chance to go down and visit her while I’m up there.

On a side note, I just found out  that Linz has a WTA tennis tournament right now.  Even though I have been pretty vocal about how much of a tennis nut I am, my colleagues at work only told me about about 2 weeks ago.  It’s a little too late for me to get tickets, and I was a bit disappointed not to get to see Ana Ivanovic in action, but you can be sure that I’ll be going next year.  Here’s the link if anyone is interested:

I’m heading out of town tonight for a couple of days on a trip to Strasbourg, France for the weekend.  It’s the perfect combination for me as they speak both German and French there.

Oh my god this house is so pretty. The tree in the back is so pretty and the water view is great! Can I come and visit?
